Selection of vacuum pump oil should on basis of the performance of rotary vane vacuum pump, don’t use engine oil instead of professional rotary vane vacuum pump oil, misuse will increase the maintenance cost and service life. Following are the performance requirements of rotary vane vacuum pump oil:

1.Ultra low vapour pressure. It is an important performance for vacuum pump oil, rotary vane vacuum pump require high vacuum degree, it has low vaporability requirement for the oil. Generally we use paraffin base narrow fraction lubricating oil, for diffusion pump, it could use low vapour pressure oil such as silicone oil or other synthetic oil.

2.Good viscosity-temperature property and suitable viscosity. The pump chamber volume is changing and exhausting air, it require the vacuum pump oil has good viscosity-temperature property and suitable viscosity.

3.Good heat oxidation stability. The high speed friction of slip vane and pump will rise the oil temperature, and it is easy to oxygenolysis and rise vapour pressure and reduce vacuum degree.

4.The vacuum pump oil also has functions of lubricating, cooling and sealing the mechanical engineering friction points.

5.Higher flashing point. Not carry light component in case of effect oil saturated vapor pressure.
